Trace 2® is an efficient leak detector for AC, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems. Both feature a vibrant red dye that, when exposed to UV light, turns bright purple-blue, enabling easy leak tracing without interrupting system operations. Neither will leave any residue or deposit in the systems. Notably, they work well in detecting intermittent leaks, as the red color and fluorescent tracer stay on the equipment until wiped off.
Trace 2® is compatible with all AC, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems.
Applications
Trace 2® is designed to trace AC, refrigerant, and hydraulic system leaks.
How to Use
Measure: Add 1/8 fluid ounce (3.75 ml) of Trace 2® directly to the refrigerant of an applicable system for every one lb. of refrigerant in the system. Trace 2® is universal for all AC, refrigeration, and hydraulic systems.
Use Highside's Economy Injector to charge Trace 2® into an operating system.
For Large Systems: Trace 2® can be added with a standard oil-charging pump. Add Trace 2® directly to the refrigerant, not the crankcase.
For Small Systems: Insert Trace 2® into a charging hose, connect one end to the low-side access valve on the compressor, and connect the other end to a refrigerant source. Purge both ends of the hose and tighten the fittings. Open the valve at the refrigerant source. Now, with the refrigerant source above the access valve, crack the access valve slowly and force Trace2® into the system along with refrigerant.*
*Note: Trace 2® is a liquid and will sludge the compressor if charged too quickly.
