Description
An AC/R internal coil cleaner and system flush designed to be used after a compressor burnout and before a system retrofit.
Applications
Designed to be used after a compressor burnout and before a system retrofit in all AC and refrigeration systems.
How to Use
For Internal Condenser & Evaporator Coil Cleaning
Remove: Remove, recover and save refrigerant according to EPA requirements.
Disconnect: Disconnect the compressor, dryer, expansion valve, accumulator, receiver, capillary tube, and solenoid valves.
Clean: Clean the evaporator and condenser coils separately by filling the coil completely with SuperFlush™. Use about one gallon of SuperFlush™ for each ton of system capacity.
Circulate for Small Systems: Use a container and hand-operated pump to circulate SuperFlush™ through the coils for a minimum of 20 minutes.
Circulate for Large Systems: Use a circulating pump, flexible tubing, and a large container to create a closed loop system and circulate SuperFlush™ through the coils for at least 20 minutes.
Remove: Remove and collect the used SuperFlush™ and dispose of it in compliance with federal, state, and local regulations and guidelines.
Post Circulation Steps:
Use pressurized dry nitrogen (100psi) to blow out coils.
Clean and/or replace the expansion valve, capillary tube, solenoid valve, accumulator, and receiver. Additional system tubing should be cleaned separately.
Reassemble and reconnect the system’s compressor. Replace the dryer and evacuate the system to at least 300 microns.
Recharge the system and make adjustments as necessary to meet operating specifications.
For Cleaning and Completing a System Flush
Remove: Remove and recover all refrigerant from the system according to the EPA and/or system guidelines and drain excess oil.
Disconnect: Disconnect the compressor, dryer, accumulator, receiver, expansion valve, or capillary tube from the system.
Connect: Connect flexible tubing to bypass the compressor, dryer, accumulator, receiver, expansion valve, or capillary tube creating a closed loop.
Place: Measure the correct amount of SuperFlush™, approximately one gallon per ton of system capacity, and place it in an open container large enough to accommodate the necessary volume of SuperFlush™. Note: The amount of Super Flush must be recorded to ensure recovery after cleaning.
Connect: Create a circulation loop by connecting a flexible tubing section from the open container to the intake side of a circulating pump. Then, attach another tubing section from the pump’s outlet side to the low side of the evaporator coil. Finally, connect a third tubing section from the high side of the condenser coil to the open container of SuperFlush™.
Pump: Activate the pump to circulate SuperFlush™ through the system for 20 to 30 minutes.
Remove: Remove the tubing from the circulating pump and use pressurized dry nitrogen (100 psi) to blow any remaining SuperFlush™ into the open container.
Collect: Collect the SuperFlush™ and measure the amount that was returned to the open container. Compare the amount to what was originally placed in the system. Do not leave more than 5% of SuperFlush™ in the system. Note: SuperFlush™ will not harm the system but leaving more than 5% of SuperFlush™ in the system may overfill the system’s capacity and risk excess pumping pressure on the system.
Dispose: Test the system for any oil, acid, or contaminants and dispose of used SuperFlush™ according to federal, state, and local regulations.
Additional Cleaning: Clean out the accumulator, receiver, and expansion valve separately with SuperFlush™.
Reassemble: Reassemble the system by reconnecting all remaining parts and connecting the compressor.
Evacuate and Recharge: Using a vacuum pump and micron gauge, evacuate the system to a minimum of 300 microns – and recharge the system with refrigerant and oil according to equipment specifications. Start the equipment and make any necessary adjustments.
For Compressor Cleanout
Pump: Using a siphon pump, remove all the oil from the compressor’s crankcase.
Add: Add an equivalent amount of SuperFlush™ into the crankcase.
Wait: Leave SuperFlush™ in the crankcase for 20 minutes and agitate or stir if possible.
Remove: Using a siphon pump, remove the used SuperFlush™ from the crankcase and dispose of it according to federal, state, and local regulations.
Refill: Refill crankcase with oil according to equipment guidelines.
